Our History
The Divine Origin
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Sri Loka Bhagavathy, the daughter of Lord Shiva. Inspired by divine guidance from Sri Lalithambika, Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamiji initiated the construction of this sacred temple in the village of Mylapore, located in the Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu, India.
Why Mylapore?
Mylapore was chosen as the temple site because it is believed to be the place where Goddess Sri Loka Bhagavathy has been performing Tapas (penance) for many Yugas (ages). This Punya Bhoomi (sacred land) is rich in natural beauty and is bordered by the vast Mylapore Reserve Forest. The area has been graced by divine personalities such as Lord Rama and Lakshmana and the revered Kanchi Maha Periyavar. It stands as a witness to numerous divine activities, making it a powerful spiritual hub.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to create a sacred space that honors the divine while fostering spiritual growth, community well-being, and environmental harmony.
